so my 3rd set of fontopia's have all but packed in (i know, i'm stupid to have bought 3 pairs). I've about €70 odd to spend on some in-ear earphones, along the lines of fontopias (as in, ear-bleeding bass :D), but actually worth the money. i'd like to get shure but i think my financial situation says "no" since the oul credit card has been given a bit too much use of late, so online spending has been stalled, to say the least.

any idea's, and keep in mind chances are i'll probably have to purchase something in a store, in dublin...

Never had a problem with my Senns.

Mind you, they're headphones - not earphones... and yeah, as Sennheisers go, they're fairly basic - being the HD 437's. I use them for everything, from MP3 players to the desk in the radio studio. Sennheiser is the first brand I recommend to people when they're looking for microphones or head/earphones.

Do they need to be in-ear?
Sennheiser PX200 are great headphones (closed), very neat and comfortable. They also fit your budget.

well since i went in-ear with my earphones i've found "normal" earphones very uncomfortable, to the point where my "backup" creatives (the ones you get with any of their mp3 players) hurt...

got a pair of shure e2c at dublin airport for 75e. work great with the creative zen vision m. can play my files at low volume, only problem is if you have a poor quality file it really sounds crap, infact crap bitrates sound better on a standard pair of ear phones.

Have a pair of seinnheisser p100 but most of the time use the shure e2c. With a good bitrate really excellent, lots of detail, nice base and really good fit, great for planes.

was looking at shure e2c's but no idea where to get them in the city since nowhere seems to have them. wouldn't worry about bitrates, i rip everything at 320kbps usually

EDIT: fook it, i'll strech the budget and get some fancy shure's off ebay ;)

    Amen to that.

Be sure to budget for replacement foams though. They're far more comfortable than the other options, but get dirty very quickly even with the best ear hygiene regime.

I tried the other tips, but I found that the rubber and plastic ones made it feel like I was pulling my brains out through my ear canals when removing them. Also, I didn't find the sound as good as the vibrations when walking were appalling.

They are E35 in the 3G stores, but they are E59 on apple.ie? a mate bought a pair and said they were like PX200's but in-ear.

read reviews on amazon that were nothing short of supreme... so i'm gonna get these as a backup pair (that'll be used mainly for the PC). particularly liked nearly every reviewer saying they're better then the sony fontopia's (which are €20 more expensive)
