    Hi

Last Vespa got stolen in 2004. Looking at buying another to get around total fn gridlock in south dublin !

I lost my car insurance no-claims-bonus for a bad "fender bender" in same gridlock last year

My last bike insurers Aon won't insure me
My car insurers FBD dont quote for bikes
I'm about to phone Carroll Nash (not optimisitc!)

    Any ideas ??

im sure there are plenty of options.

Starting with drive more carefully :) , get a bigger lock, or a bike with an alarm.

AS for insurance though CN is now ure only hope. if they turn u down it's off to the nearest bus stop 4 ya :(

You could do an assesment course with the IRTA, get a certificate, and prove to the insurance company you're a competent rider. Most of the IRTA schools can provide a bike for the day you sit the practical, and provide the temp insurance on the day.

why wont aon insure you? you lost your car ncb, that has nothing to do with a motorbike ncb so they shouldnt be counting that

    Thanks all

    > I clarified to Carol Nash that i have NO BIKE CLAIM. They were understanding of this.

    > They quoted me e300 for 3rd party, no fire and theft . grand (for rip off ireland anyway ) I'm 37 , no pillion passenger, have a lock up side entrance

On reflection Aon rep or his supervisor or underwriter (Axa now not Hibernian ) may have misunderstood that I had a bike claim not a car claim.

Anyway .. getting back on two small wheels and more city-mobile

    Cheers
