Hey, so the student loan will be in soon and im almost certainly selling all my old gear and pedals simplifying to just a guitar and an amp :D i have already decided on this:
    http://music123.com/Schecter-C1-Classic----Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar-i116107.music
Im lookin for a really versatile tube amp (my first one) in the region of £300-£500 sterling. I play some indie, punk and some metal but wat i really want from the amp is a great rhythm tone and an amp which i can get a lot of different sounds out of without have to resort to pedals. Can anyone suggest a few amps in that region that they would recommend? Maybe engl, H&k?

Engl seem to be the tube amp of the moment. For Schecters (good choice btw) keep an eye on this guy's ebay store. He sells a lot of factory seconds, stuff like a teeny chip on the headstock or stuff you wouldn't notice.

Seconded, got my schecter off him with the defect being a few pindrop sized drops of paint on the binding on the top horn. Ive noticed he seems to be doing free shipping to Ireland now on a lot of his auctions

Edit: Ooooo thats purdy! I havnt bought a guitar in like 3 days and I really wouldnt mind another 7, what to do what to do!

Yes, I probably can. Assuming you're playing any degree of Rock of Metal, Engl are excellent. I use an Engl Fireball myself, which has more than enough gain for even the most seering Death Metal.

Anyway, I'd suggest the Engl Thunder 50, which is a great little amp, or if you want a bit more variety in tones, perhaps the Screamer 50 which has 4 channels, but it might be a bit too pricey considering your budget.
