ok this has fcuk all to do with poker, so it will probably last about ten seconds. But I am sick and tired of posters on this forum not knowing the difference between the words lose and loose.

To lose something is to misplace something or to separate yourself from something (ie your cash).

When something is loose (note the second o in this word) its (and I quote) 'free from bonds or restraint'.

Lets have an example of each.

I am a **** poker player and I lose the whole time (or past tense I lost).

I was with a bird/bloke (delete where applicable*) last night. Man was she/he (ditto*) loose ;)

Gholimoli is excused from all claims as he admits he is still learning the language

I like this one to help me remember the difference between the two,

Cindy is going to "lose" her anal virginity today, her as**ole will be very "loose".

Mods, if the above is frowned upon in the poker forum, please delete.

Thanks Careca, I was going to post something like that too about that particular spelling flaw in people.

Another pet hate is people saying 'here, here' instead of 'hear, hear'.

Phew, got that out of my system.

Fair play Careca, I hate that too, but then again I am a pedantic f**ker. TBH, I hate all badly worded posts in general. At the end of the day, people are much more likely to read a post that's easy to read, and thus get a much better response. Long paragraphs piss me off as well, I usually skim-read them and miss the important details, or ignore them altogether.

I'm sure some people will get annoyed at this, but my point is, better posting = better responses.

Maybe we should have some form of grammar test for posters, and you do not have access rights to the forum unless you have passed this test:D

I couldn't work out what the blanked out word was for ages, then I figured it must be "lose".
