lol Yeah fair play for keeping calm.

Am I mistaken or did Peter not really tilt after this and end up getting bustedby Tony?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 837 ✭✭✭kpnuts

Don't think Peter tilted, although he could hardly have been blamed if he did!

As far as I can remember, Peter exited in a massive pot where he reraised Tony G preflop, TG called for sh1tloads more chips with 3-3 and Peter missed the board with his A-10.

edit: on reflection, maybe that was a separate tournament altogether where Peter and Tony G had the AT v 33 clash. I could look it up, but I'm too tired and I'm off to bed now! GN

Now, I hate Tony G as much as the next guy, but in fairness to him he actually was very respectful to Peter Roche after a final table they played (not sure if it's the one in the OP). He said something like he wanted to take extra chances against Peter 'cos he pegged him as being the best player at the table by far, and wanted him out of the way.

This was the end of the WPT in Paris, the AT (Peter) vs 33 (Tony G) was in the London Open last summer. Peter reraise with AT all in and TG made a big call with 33 and it stood up. Why this stuff is in my head when I can't remember what time my flight is tomorrow, is anyones guess.

Poker dedication true and true... I can remember all the hands in my home game last night when people got knocked out, but yet I forgot to set my alarm clock before I went to sleep

    Not good!

Here's a clip of Tony G what may even surpass the WPT Surindar footage in terms of obnoxiousness:

Also, did it pop up on the screen that Peter had 10 cards to win? Looked like 14 to me.

I really really dislike Tony G, and if he acted like that towards me, i actually don't know what i would do, because im not violent.
However, i will say one thing i admire about him:
Most people, after going all in with the best hand against someone, will, if they win, say nothing, and if they lose, if they are so inclined, then give out about how bad a call the opponent made etc etc etc for example Phil Hellmuth. At least Tony gives them sh1t whatever happens!

Tony G says he enjoys losing almost as much as he enjoys winning. I would hate to play against him but he really does provide great entertainment for the viewers. He put on a super show at last year's WPT Bad Boys of poker tournament, wonderful entertainment.

His Blog is also quite good. He had some very funny posts during this years WSOP, there's a few classic Tony G lines in there like "I really wanted to bust him up, crush him, take all his chips"

    the guy is a cock

but he is fearless, everyone talks about the great calls he makes but I challenge anyone to find footage of him folding top pair.

    he cant do it

I just watched the monte carlo millions tournament (episodes 1-6) and he plays some hands very strangely and makes some bad calls with draws.

Still not that sure if it was a good idea on Peter's part to try and match him with the trash talk.

And people think hellmuth is an arse. At least Hellmuth does'nt personally abuse people's origin and nationality. I know he can be an arse and that, but that Tony G is a fukcing cnut and deserves to be bit ch slapped off the table by the dealer.
