I saw a few Asian companies starting up P2PTV services (such as TVUPlayer and TVants), are there any such networks in the west? The person who can actually manage to start up such a company can make a fair bit of cash, but too many people would complain about the non-hd quality.

Could be a fair idea for a new project though :)

Well the technology is perfectly legal, for instance TVUPlayer (www.viidoo.com) carried NasaTV for a while which isnt copyrighted, although they do carry channels which are illegal too. Its kind of like bittorrent or HTTP even, the technology can be used for illegal things but that doesnt make it illegal :)

I think CCTV is a free to air channel too but im not 100% on that
