Just wondering how would I go about getting a Safe Pass? I ask as I think it may help me to get an electrical apprenticeship if I had one. Also, how long would it take, and is it possible to do it on a one-day-a-week basis or something, as currently I'm working shift work, and wouln't be able to do a night course.

I'm based in Leixlip, just outside the west of Dublin.

Contact FAS, it is their scheme. It takes 8 hours so you can do it in a day. Be warned it is the most mind numbingly boring thing it has ever been my misfortune to have to sit through.

The most irritating thing about it is you could easily sit the exam withour doing the course and you would pass.

Yeah I think I have seen someone advertising in Herald alright under construction.

The Course itself is simple....They go through a safety procedures and then a pop quiz at end of it...Well it was last time I did one 4 years ago...Acutally I think Im up for a new one...What MrPudding says, its very very boring, very hard to keep eyes open...:D

the safe pass course is only 1 day long you would usually pay between 80 -120 euro to do the course and they are always advertised in the national papers. its very easy no one fails but u wont get on to a site without one heres a link to tutors doing the course from fas

Go to fas website, go to A-Z, find list of tutors...pick tutors in your area and phone them. you do a course with an exam at the end. get at least 14/20 and you pass. It takes about 3 months to actually get the card cause we are really slow but we got new machines that make it go faster

The cards lasts 4 years from the day you do the course.

my summer job was entering safepass applications!

If you check in your local pub you should find them for sale, along with car tax, insurance disks and NCT certs.

No one day course, no waiting period, unless u drink guiness

There is a hugh market in these 4 items
