Longtime is a very nice track, but I don't really see how Peedi's style fits in with the Roots darker stuff.
Word is Peedi Peedi of State Property may become the newest member of the legendary Roots crew.

?uestlove recently revealed that they offered Peedi (formely known as Peedi Crack) the opportunity to join the group and that the Philadelphia emcee accepted it. The funky drummer shared that he's looking into finance and structure to determine whether or not Peedi could become a Root for the year. Peedi collaborated with the Roots on Game Theory's "Long Time." While the union is in the works, Peedi isn't an official member just yet.

"Peedi may join the Roots on the road for a couple dates and see how it goes," the Roots' management told SOHH.com.

If he joins the group, Peedi would join Black Thought as the band's second emcee. Malik B was a member of the group's four albums while Dice Raw has been a frequent collaborator since the band's second album, 1995's Do You Want More?

The Roots' Game Theory is in stores now.

Thats nuts... Jean Grae was asked to join two years ago but declined. Would have prefered her to some State Property member

I actually like his vocals and delivery. He is not a bad rapper, but I just don't see how he could rhyme over thye darker roots tracks. He just isn't suited to it vocally.

Jean Grae would have been an awesome member.
