MAIN TRAFFIC: * One lane of the M50 Northbound will be closed from just past the N7/ Red Cow Exit to the N4/Lucan Rd exit until 3pm today. The closure is to facilitate the removal of a vehicle from the hardshoulder following a crash earlier this morning. Expect delays. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. * At the moment on the M50 Northbound there are delays between Firhouse and the Tollplaza. Southbound it's busy from the Blanchardstown exit to the Tollplaza. * Traffic lights are out of action on Coldcut Rd by the Liffey Valley Shopping centre due to a power failure. Approach with caution. * Motorists are advise to watch out for an obstruction on the N4 by the Chapelizod Bypass outbound following an earlier collision.

GENERAL TRAFFIC: Traffic is very slow still on the N7/Naas Rd from before Newlands Cross to the Red Cow Roundabout. It's slow at the on ramp onto the M50 northbound from the Red Cow roundabout. Also slow onto the Longmile Rd to Crumlin Rd. Swords Rd inbound is busy approaching Drumcondra Rd. Remaining busy from Cabra Rd onto the North Circular Rd through Doyle's Corner. No major delays to report on the N4/Lucan Rd.

ROADWORKS & EVENTS: The Belgard Road, from the N81 jct to Belgard Square North jct will close each night from 8pm to 6am until 24th Sept. Mobile lane closures will be in place on the Swords Bypass and at Lissenhall all this week to facilitate roadside maintenance works. Between 10am & 1pm daily the M50 Northbound to N4 West free flow slip road is closed to facilitate lane re-alignment works. A traffic management plan is in place for works taking place at St Valery’s Bridge/Dargle River Bridge on the N11 at Bray. A contra flow will be in operation on the northbound carrigeway with one lane for southbound traffic & two lanes for northbound traffic. One lane will operate in the southbound carriageway for southbound traffic. These works will impact on traffic on the M50 to the M11/N11 & the R117 Enniskerry Rd.

*** From now on hand held mobile phones are banned while driving. The offence will incur penalty points*** FERRIES: All Stena Line and Irish Ferries sailings are expected to sail to schedule

Thanks Jonny. Makes we wonder why the vehicle removal could not take place in the late evening! Anything to frustrate drivers is my guess.

Having said that the rebberneckers would slow things down anyway....:o

No probs, I would imagine that because it was a crash its in an akward position so to remove it they would be blocking the road!!

Passed a car at lunchtime today and it was in the central median behind the barriers, if this is the one they are referring too, god know why they needed to close a lane of traffic.

    From the AA website:

14:39 - All lanes of the M50 Northbound will close from just past the N7/ Red Cow Exit to the N4/Lucan Rd exit 3pm today
The closure is to facilitate the removal of a vehicle from the hardshoulder following a crash earlier this morning. Expect delays. Motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

    From AA now
All lanes are closed on M50 Northbound from just past the N7/ Red Cow Exit to the N4/Lucan Rd exit. The lanes are due to reopen at 3pm today. This is to allow wreckage removal from the hardshoulder following a crash earlier

I thought this would fit into this thread...

The M50 as you know is a desigm and build section. And as far as I'm aware the Red cow design has not being finalised.. So thumbs up on a proper interchange with luas gliding over it somehow...:D
