Hi all I just wanted to let you all know about an event myself and Julie O'Leary are putting on.

It's a €500+€35 freeze-out taking place in the Fairways Hotel & Conference Centre, Dublin Road, Dundalk on Friday September 29th, starting at 8pm sharp, not five past eight, not half eight.

We want to provide players with something they are not used to in terms of a tournament structure and value for money.

A big tournament that is all about the poker and the players. There will be no bar in the conference room (players that want to have a drink will have to do so away from the tables).

There will also be plenty of side action on the night.

If you are interested in playing could you PM me or contact me at carfax3@hotmail.com
or Julie at joolspoker@hotmail.com......If you need accomodation or transport we will be happy to help you get organised.

Thanks,
Stephen.

And here's all the info about the tournie.

Stephen Mc Lean and Julie O’Leary are running this event.

The purpose of the event is commercial and the best possible service will be given to players.

The event will take place on Friday the 29th of September in the Fairways Hotel & Conference Centre, Dublin Road, Dundalk Co. Louth

Registration will be open from 19:00 on the 29th and the tournament will begin at 20:00 sharp.

All are welcome

Qualifiers will be running at different locations around the country throughout September, but players can pay their entry fee on the night, before the start time! We will list these qualifiers within the next couple of days.

This will be a no-limit hold’em feeze-out.

The cost of entry will be €500 and there will be no re-buys.

There will be a charge of €35 registration.

100 % of entry fee going into Prize fund.

No guaranteed prize-pool but a conservative estimate would be €20,000.

Starting Chips- 8,000

Blind levels- 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 100-200 (25 ante), 150-300 (25ante), 200-400 (50 ante) and so on......(We're trying to make it very playable but have designed it to be finished at a respactable hour nonetheless).

Blind timeframes- 35 minutes.

This will be an all cash pay-out tournament and the top 10% of players will be payed out (this may be subject to a slight change depending on numbers, i.e. if there are 43 players there will probably be 5 places paid)

There will be dealers and we have enlisted the help of some of the best in the
business, with full rotations and all the works.

There will be a documented list of rules.

There will be a tournament director- me, Stephen Mc Lean.

I have final say.

This one is outside my budget this month Mr. Mc Lean but be sure to let us know of your future ones as I will be happy to attend any that you are TDing.

good luck with it and I'm glad to see that there is a no drinking at the tables policy, that really annoys me about some of the games outside Dublin.
cheers, des

I love being able to drink at the table, and love when my opponents are partaking heavily of the amber nectare also.

back to Vegas with you!

drinking heavily has got nothing to do with Irish poker....;)

Lol, yeah back to Vegas with you....

Hope you all can make it.

There will be satellites running all over the place for this, Mike is going to see if he can organise an online sat or two on Green Joker Poker, which will have guaranteed tickets.

We will also be running sats for the €1,000 November tournament on the night in Dundalk.

Hi Star,

I was originally expecting about 40 players but judging by the positive reactions today I would say it could be closer to 60. €30,000 prize-pool would be nice.

If it goes well this will be a regular fixture for Dundalk. Its just perfect for the lads from Belfast and Dublin and even further afield.

We're calling ourselves Poker Ireland Limited and we're in the process of setting up www.pokerireland.ie.......
The idea being to build a network of reputable tournaments around Ireland so that players all over can be assured of a good service.
And a good number of players for big buy-in tournaments.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the text.... I do have a little bit of interest in the tourney and from the questions I've asked, some of the lads are interested too... We're not a 100% yet but its on the agenda now
