    had a satelite receiver for sale on buy and sell and looking for 220 euros for it got a email from a bloke asking my address so i sent it to him my address that is and today lol i got a cheque in the post for 2,200 euros.
    its a esb cheque and post mark on the envelope says it was posted in sevilla spain.

    i have uploaded sum pics of the cheque and envelope,i knew straight away it was a dud cheque who in there right mind would send you 2,200 euros lol.

    i read joebhoy got a similar cheque for 3,000 lol

    wow, but defoo fake

    -the font is too big
    -thousands shouldn't be plural, the writer wasn't a native english speaker
    -its not printed straight
    -the signatures on a real corporate printed cheue would be preprinted/rubber stamped
    -a real corporate cheque (for AIB) usually has a hologram
    -a real cheque doesn't have stars/or other fillers before the payee name and amount in words, fillers should only appear after
    -on the top right only the sort code should appear
    -the vertical space above the MICR text should be larger

    You shouldn't attempt to cash/lodge this piece of paper. According to the CRIMINAL JUSTICE (THEFT AND FRAUD OFFENCES) ACT, 2001
    26.—(1) A person who uses an instrument which is, and which he or she knows or believes to be, a false instrument, with the intention of inducing another person to accept it as genuine and, by reason of so accepting it, to do some act, or to make some omission, or to provide some service, to the prejudice of that person or any other person is guilty of an offence.

    (2) A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on conviction on indictment to a fine or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or both.

    As said before don't cash the cheque.

    I think you should report it to the Garda and also the the Spanish police.

    I asked a friend that give me the web address below and e-mail address is from the Spanish Police for Online fraud.

    E-mail Hope that if write in English you get a reply.
