No joy on My TV installation

I'm trying to set up My TV in the XP MCE, but when I set my region to Ireland, I get:
    UNSUPPORTED REGION
The tuner hardware does not support the TV format for your region. You may need to install different tuner hardware that supports the appropriate TV format.

This is the tuner I'm using, and it doesn't seem to have any problems grabbing the Irish channels in PowerCinema 4. I can't see any reason why it shoudn't work, except for the fact that it's not working.

    Any help?

MCE requires certified tuners, the TerraTec Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS is not one of them hence the reason it does not work I'm afraid.

In Kompletts external USB TV tuner section see the ones branded as MCE compatible those are the kind you need.

Just be aware that only one of the three external tuners listed on Komplett supports analog TV this expensive Hauppauge unit, don't know why but Komplett don't stock the cheaper ones for some reason.

If you actually plan on getting such a device you can get it a bit cheaper on Elara with or without a MCE compatible remote bundled.

They really try to fleece you with the bundled MCE remote. I bought the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 unit for less than €100 before Easter this year. I don't have Media Center but there's no way the remote is worth that sort of money.

i think the issue is that your trying to use a dvb-t card in ireland.
we "dont have" dvb-t yet so mce doesnt support it here.
try setting your region to norhern ireland or uk

i know its not on the lsit but if mce picks it up as a card then you should be fine.
