Aido McGuiness has 2 runners and 2 winners there this evening, a lot to be said for the local trainers doing well at their local tracks, although we cant really class laytown as a track can we

You did get at least one winner for each meeting. If you adapted the Martindale system according the the odds on your selection, you would have been well ahead.

However, there's always the day when one meeting doesn't provide any winners. :mad:

It's just a little program I wrote which attempts to spot horses with potential to improve. This is just the first run. I really want it to work, so what I might do is change a few things. I'm not concentrating the draw at all yet. For now it concentrates on drops back in trip, tries to assess if it's still ahead of the handicapper, drops in class, positive jockey bookings considering previous jockeys, etc. It actually outputs 3 horses per race, and I post the one from those three which I think has the best chance (and I've been wrong alot! hehe). What I will do is if it fails to impress by tomorrow, I'll redesign it somewhat, post exactly how the new design works, and go from there. I'll also post the 3 selections it gives for each race and see how that works. What d'ya think?

Yeah I'm still planning on heading to Listowel. I'll be there for the racing on the Saturday and Sunday, provided nothing comes up in the meantime. Are you thinking of going mate?

I think fade2black went a booked a holiday JUST so he doesn't have to come to Listowel.

Yeah I'll be in Tralee (Staying in Tralee) from the Monday and racing the Tuesday until the Friday. Flight back to Dublin on the Saturday is subject to change depending on how well the week goes.

Must PM you a number on the off chance I'll still be around on the Saturday.

seems to be a quality horse, Amacelli had to dig deep to pull out a win, SogG travels beautifully, and Amacelli is a fine horse as well, did u see the race?

I put this horse in the "horses to follow thread", a little late however as only got 2 wins since, but I followed her since her first naas win (got a call off the track for her, wish I could say I paddock picked her myself but I didnt!).

She's in alot better company today (see card below) and at 7/1 she's E/W fodder only IMO. Hopefully she'll win it, but Id be very surprised.

Aura of Calm was a Mullins reserve who won last time out at 20/1, coming from literally nowhere to destroy the competition in a matter of strides at the end. It showed lots of potential.

It would not effect the winner, however, Miss Blarney Stone had to be snatched up when Starspangled hit the front and got in it's way causing Miss Blarney Stone to lose second place. As this is Irish racing, I'm fairly sure there will be no enquiry.

Not too bad a day considering. 4 winners from 7 at Cork is decent enough, even if they were all short priced winners. I've thought about it and I'll keep this going for a while to see how profitable it would be with placepot betting.

What a day for willy! That Aura of Calm was sus big time last time out, won easy today. Didnt touch the race, nor the first handicap either (had my eye on Kleinova and UCanStep - who need softer IMO). Got a phonecall for Aura of Calm this morning but bottled it!
