In network connections I have two icons:
    Local Area Connections
    1394 Connection Net Adapter

The first is functioning fine with the following settings:

    IP: 192.168.1.33
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0

The other is not working properly and when I try to repair it by right clicking and using the drop down menu I'm told it's not configured properly.

    Any help please?

the 1394 connection is for connecting devices like external hardrives, videocameras etc.

It has nothing to do with your broadband.

Thanks. Should TCP/IP be enabled there and if so - how can I do it?

1394 is the PC equivalent to Apples Firewire if i recollect. I'm not quite sure why 1394 is shown in network connections. If 1394 is in there why not USB as well???...just another microsoft oddity i guess.
