    Did you ice it?

Arnica is good, and I've heard good things about vitamin k gel. The only other thing I can think of is to eat very well for the next few days and hope for the best!

Thanks Clive, yep I did ice the worst ones... will see if I can pick up some of that gel tomorrow... where would I be more likely to find it, health food shop or chemist?

Bestest friend's wedding and I'm chief bridesmaid..... she'll kill me if I'm covered in bruises :(

Managed to do tonights class without adding to the bruise count.... so now I'm very tempted to train tomorrow night as well.... I can't stay at home just so I don't get bruised, I'd go nuts!!

    Wear a heavy gi?

Man I got a wak in the gob today, to add to my cut eye and I think my nose is bruised! My nose! WTF? I also cut my finger. Someone must have bitten me. This game is too rough for me.

You promised you'd never mention my drink problem on the boards Jon ;)

Some big and not so big Aikido guys and girls like to see if they can stop the blood to my hands when they grab me....makes them feel good, I think... also one in particular who likes to stomp all over everyones feet... he's size 12 (shoes), I'm size 4.5. Also got a thumbnail in my eye... so blinking a bit too often too... luckily the right hook in the cheekbone didn't leave a mark... she's gonna kill me.

Thai oil and loads of massage, which will probably make them worse at first but they should be gone by Thursday. Loads of thai oil and massage 4 tiems a day!

    Peace

Just make loads of other bruises around it so that people just think it a weird tan. I've been at enough weddings were the women had weird Tangerine tans and they looked worse than bruises!:D

Icing and massage. The massage can be sore but it works it out.

I've had a pretty bad black eye the past week. A chinese girl i work with told me to boil an egg (remove the shell) , put it in a handkerchief still warm and rub it over the bruise. She said if you put a silver coin in the egg it works better.

I didn't get a chance to try it and it sounds as crazy to me as im sure it does to you. She swears by it though so might be worth a try.

    Agree with Roper.

Haemorrhoid creams do a pretty good job on clearing up bruises (those who play with sticks know all about bruises:D ).
Vitamin C also seems to make a difference; maybe one of the more learned posters could point you in the right direction wrt to dosage etc. Personally I don't find arnica much use. Also some of the kung fu people might be able to hook you up with dit jow, again the results can be dramatic or disappointing depending on the particular brew.
Hope that helps and enjoy the wedding. Speaking of weddings I ended up at the afters of a friends wedding and it was full of MA'ers so it was nice to talk MA bullsh*t all night as opposed to house prices/crèches/traffic etc:D

There's this stuff called Voltarol emulgel, also butter seems to work well.

I'm going to suggest you do the Western thing and mask the problem rather than fix it. Call into A Beauticians or Brown Thomas and get some good concealer(sp?) so no-one notices the bruises.

Loads of thai oil and massage 4 tiems a day!

The arnica balm is a massage oil... seems to be working though was REALLY painful at first. That and od-ing on the internal arnica seems to be really working... woke up this am and the painful lumps I had yesterday had disappeared, just left with the bruising colour :)
Is Thai oil good???? Never used it

Only you could post that one... only down the road... maybe you could help me out getting a few more ;)

Scuttery1 - I take Vitamin C all the time... doesn't seem to help... as for the piles cream....eeeehhhhhhh yeuck at the thought of that.

Thanks Colm, but I'm allergic to makeup, concealer, false tan etc... have to use 'nasty' chemical free shampoos/showergels... everything! Have to wear some warpaint for the wedding, but have to put on a barrier cream first :o

Thanks for all the advice lads... I'll have to trial them all at some stage for the craic. Tried to get the Vit K gel today and just got vacant stares from the shop assistants. Normally bruises don't bother me in the slightest... but I'm scared of the Bride's wrath, so much so that I'm giving BJJ a miss tonight :( I'd probably end up breaking something and then I'd really be in the sh*te :D

The pain od the bruises is not your main concern therefore it's the appearance you are worried about.
So how about you just use some false tan?
PS. I am a guy and I am hetro......
Just felt the need to share....

    ciao

It's a pity it's bruising you've got not joint problems because then I'd be prescribing a big strong dose of glucosamine.... ok I'll get my coat.

    :o:p;):D

Ahhh don't go just yet....I take Glucosamine almost everyday, one of the main things that keeps me training after a serious car accident years ago... don't know where I'd be without it :D

Arnica has done it in huge doses... bruises almost gone!!!!

    Hey Maeve,
Try some goldboss oil. You can get it in the oriental emporium on drury st. It's like a huge supermarket that asians go into but it looks like a mini cab office from the street.

    Hope this helps
