No terrestrial reception <3 months following pro install

I got a 'professional' to install a terrestrial aerial during the world cup ..approx. 3 months ago. I lost reception two weeks ago. I've asked the installer to come back when hes in the area - but know that he wont.

Do I have any legal recourse to insist on him coming back and making good the work that he took on. I only engaged his services by accident - i wanted to get a satellite mount off of him - but he pitched to do the sat. install and the motorised sat. install. I was short on time at that point so I let him at it. It turned out it had little experience with terrestrial. When it came to the motorised satellite install, I insisted that he not leave until he could demonstrate that he had tuned in the Astra2 & Hispasat ie. extremes of east and west - knowing that it would be easy to sort out the rest myself. He couldnt do it despite having superior equipment. I only let him go as I was freezing my ass off as I didnt think it would take so long (ended up taking a couple days off sick with the 'flu because of it).

As part of the deal, I also got him to re-align another terrestrial aerial - which returned to normal service ie. poor reception within a couple of weeks of him calling.

Anyway, i'm rambling on. I just need to know if I have any right to makehim sort out my terrestrial?

He says he will come out 'when hes in the area'. Still waiting.

I've dropped the ball on this one as I got no receipt. Even if I did, would I have a case?

It would reasonable to expect years rather than months.

Do you really want him back?

Damn right, I want him back (at no extra charge). Nobody likes getting stung - especially me! The fact that things are tight money wise doesnt help.

Well, just pester him until he returns to fix the aerial again.

I did exactly that and he finally showed up. It turned out to be a faulty/poor quality booster. I had tried another booster myself in between times but looks like that ones also for the scrap heap.

Well at least you've finally got it sorted! Let's hope it stays that way for years to come! :)
