Patch 1.1 for GTA San Andreas

Bought gta San Andreas for the pc about week ago. Anyway I've been playing through the missions happily. I went to the GTA website looking to see if there are any patches and there appears to be a patch v1.1

So I was wondering is any point installing it just for some called 'anti hot-coffee bug', whatever that is? I'm planning on trying out a few of the multiplayer mods once i finish the game and I see that you have to have the original version so it would save me the hassle of reverting back if I patched.

Also any other things to watch out for when playing the pc version, I've heard stories of bugs where save games can be become corrupted?

Also while I'm at it, could I use a 100% completion guide from the PS2 version for the PC version or do they differ in some ways?

They only differ in regards to controls. The 1.01 patch, as well as removing hot-coffee (crappy sex mod) also enables HDTV resolutions, which would be handy if you have your pc hooked up to a nice HDTV.

If you don't need either of the above then you're good to go without the patch.

don't you need a DVI connection for it to be in HD?

Thats where I was looking but they all seemed to be for the PS2 and I wasnt sure if there might have been slight differences. Anyway gonna try one of the 100% completion PS2 guides and see what happens

The ones without PS2 written next to them are for the PC.

I used the following for some of the more total-b|tch hard missions:
