I woke up late this morning, dragged myself out of bed,
I took the beer down by my feet to ease the pain in my head,
Please don’t open the curtain’s, I’m not ready for that yet,
You know any light but moonlight, brings me out in a cold sweat.

I took the world on last night; I fought it, I cursed it, I won,
Now I’m lying here broken, the morning’s prodigal son,

I’ll give up everything I have, to help her see things my way.

I have seen a thousand graves, a million bones at rest,
If you believe in who you are, the bones are all they’ll get,
If it’s my turn to die tomorrow, I won’t go without a fight,
I’ll settle my tab then I’ll go have a whole life in just one night.

Some men they live for the danger, putting themselves to the test,
Some live in fear, hoping no-one will guess
