    Anyone?
Any chance at all of some details to base judgements off, so that I don't just feed you speculation and hyperbole?

You still haven't told us anything useful. What IP address do you have? Is it just your browser is screwed up, or can you ping addresses? Can you access mail? Are you getting any error messages? Have you tried a different browser?

Can you ping the wireless router (ping 192.168.1.1 or whatever it's address is), can you ping your ISP's DNS servers? Who is the ISP you're using? Have you tried to do a system restore to any point before it stopped working. If you (or some program) has changed your network settings then a system restore may well get it back again easily.

Please exceus my ignorance but what do you mean by "ping"?
    I don't get error messages.
MSN messanger cannot login either so its not an IE problem

Stop bumping the thread please. We're not your personal tech support.

Do you have encryption enabled on your wireless connection? Who is your ISP? What model laptop are you using?

Open the start menu, click into Run, type in CMD and press Ok. This will open a small black window to you. Now type the following in exactly, pressing Enter after each line and post back what the results are.

    ipconfig /all
    ping 192.168.0.1
    ping 192.168.1.1
    ping 192.168.0.253
    ping 192.168.1.253

    Thanks for your reply!

for each of the ping commands I got the following message:

    Packets : sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

I'm presumimg you're with Eircom and you have the blue Netopia wireless router 3347NWG.
Your DNS servers (highlighted above) are incorrect and need to be changed.
    Go to Control Panel-->Network Connections
Right click on your wireless LAN connection & select properties
Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
At the bottom tick "Use the following DNS server addresses"
    Enter in the boxes:
    Preferred DNS: 213.94.190.194
    Alternet DNS: 213.94.190.236
    Click OK & OK

Don't tell people who don't know what they're doing that they shouldn't be using automatic IP configuration - it'll eventually lead to tears. At some point those DNS servers will be unavailable, and the recipient of your advice will be royally screwed.

Then you do have TCP/IP when you're logged in as you.

What response do you get if you type

    PING www.boards.ie

If that doesn't work (if you don't receive 4 responses), try:
    PING 82.195.136.250?

Someone asked for an IPCONFIG/ ALL result when you're logged in as guest.

And just what do you get in your web browser when you try to open a page, if you're logged in as you?

Have you got some weird proxy settings in IE (that other apps might be refering to)?
    (From internet explorer - [Tools]->[Internet Options]->[Connections]->[Lan Settings])
Uncheck the proxy server option if it's checked.

Could you create another windows user account and use that?
It may be a good last resort anyway.

A solution to what? You've just demonstrated that you DO have TCP/IP support when you're logged in as you, and you also claim that you don't get any error messages. So what is it that leads you to believe that there's a problem? What's not working that you think should be working?

I get no loss when i ping 192.168.1.254. Whats not working is the Internet. I'm getting "The Page cannot be displayed."

I don't know much about this stuff. You say that i have TCP/IP support, but I still cannot acess the net.

Mmm, could have been malware trying to route your traffic through a proxy they own in order to intercept form data and steal your personal info and/or passwords.
That's just a wild guess, but it's a f*cking scarey thought all the same.
