Is it just me but howcome i seam to always loose in cash games or break even? I play well in tournament play and my record over the last six months is pretty good. But when it comes to cash games my record is lousy. Any Ideas?

probably because its mainly the weaker players that play in the non cash games.

Well without a lot more info all we can do is guess
but generally when i see tourney players in cash games losing it is because they do not understand the value of there hand.
in tourneys the main action is nearly exclusively pre flop and really with stacks as shallow as they tend to be rarely is a post flop call/bet that bad and there is not usually a turn decision to be made

in cash the real play happens post flop and the value of your hand pre on the flop and on the turn and river changes quite substatially

Maybe your right but i dont think so, I seam to have a different strategy in a cash game where i take it one hand at a time and also their a different players coming in and out of the game. Especially the ones that have a few drinks on them. impossible to read because they could bet on anything.

They are two different games due to stack sizes.
In tournament you mostly only concerned with pre-flop play so a good understanding of pre-flop hand values is really all that applies in most cases.
Post flop because the pot is usually large in relation to stack sizes then your often right by folding/going all in or calling an all in and this results in a game that has a betting round pre-flop and then on the flop which is relatively much less complex when you compare it to cash games which because of the deep stacks involved brings in the turn and river betting rounds in full force.
If I had to guess I would say your post flop play is weak and you need to improve on it if your consistently losing in cash games.

You're not giving any information. Why not post a few hands where you think you could've played better? Cash play is completely different to tourney play.

You may be too loose preflop and two passive postflop. Failing to extract maximum value on your good hands maybe a problem as well as overplaying your marginal holdings like top pair.

If you want to improve your cash game, start at the low levels and work you're way up as if starting from scratch. I wouldn't start at the equivalent levels to your tourney game.

Playing 7 seated i was 4th to act with QTh i raised up to 5 from 2 and that left 5players. flop comes QJ3. Checked into me and i raise the pot. 1 caller turn 3. I raise again and get a re raise what should i do? bearing in mind this guy has had a few.

u have one pair with a bad kicker, this guy has called a pre flop raise, called your first bet, and re raised u on the turn. U are almost always behind, what do u think he has that he does this with thats not ahead of you?

dont inflate the pot on both streets with this sort of marginal hand, u need to keep the pot small.

as it stands, unless u are pot committed, or he has very little behind himself relative to the pot, u should fold.

I don't mean any offence but this one hand shows why you are losing money.

What level do you currently play at ? I think the best advise suggested was to start at the lower limits and work your way up.

This is on of the best threads i have read on starting off at the lower levels of the game and building your bankroll to move up.

Judging by the caller it already sounds like a low stake cash game...
