Childhood Innocence...gone

Walkin with 3 of my friends(youngest 15,oldest 16) in Naaavan when stopped by a group of about 10(youngest about 19,oldest 26 at least) outside Supermacs. They stood in front of us demanding money or else they'd 'kill' us.

We told them we had no money but the oldest chap(beer in hand, wire snips in the back pocket) wasnt havin' any of it.I eventually gave them 70 cent which 'wasnt acceptable'.He went to my friend asking him for money too.My friend, big lad,was adamant he didn't have anything(even though he had an iPod and a phone in his pocket)The oldest lad said 'ill ****in search ya' and despite my friends reluctance eventually parted with a fiver. We were then told to **** off.

What angered me most was when the 26-year old said the money payed 'wasnt acceptable'.I felt like sayin' 'I have some in my shoe',takin' it off, clockin' him and breaking his ****in nacker face .Then say 'Take that biotch, godamn bully intimidating a group of 15 year olds and hustlin them of there money'

Luckily I have sense and didn't want to get blood all over my new shoes.

What do you think, disgraceful or not?

Its Navan alright, the Gardai in full view of the situation as well no doubt. :) Supermacs and that lane next to the cinema, forget about it.

Well,no one mugs children because they don't have any money. You could steal their candy though!

Call the police and report it. Sometimes they're not completely useless.

    Yeah - definitely report.

Gards might suss that it happens same time every week, they then check CCTV from the local off license of Supermac etc and Todd's your uncle.

Don't see what it has to do with childhood innocence. You were mugged by a gang of knackers.

I was robbed walking through a notorious short cut from the pub, most people i know avoid it but i didnt seein as i never got hassle before. Even my dad said he wouldnt have walked up there 20 years ago. Basically they kicked me and demanded money, which i quite honestly didnt have, which incurred a worse beating. They then demanded my phone. Me being drunk and rather pissed off at the situation, i quite literally told him to go fcuk his mother*. Knew id be losin the phone anyway, and would get a beating anyway, so why not. Incurred the beating but at least i didnt go down quietly.

Anyway, some friends of friends sorted the boys out a few days later, theyd been on the rob all weekend and fcuked some other people over that they shouldnt have :)

*: I mustve been watching the Sopranos where Chris is carjacked by the Puerto Ricans

Puerto Rican (pulling out Chris` gun)"Hey, whats this for big man?"
Chris "Shovin up your mothers twat" :D

He took a beatin similiar to mine, but sure he went out with attitude :)

OP, these lads, where they Dubs, Travellers or local Navan heads? Although regular run of the mill scum down the country are actually more violent and surly then Dubs, generally i never thought that gang muggings happened down there by locals.

A little off topic, but hey. Do knackers in navan speak like knackers in Dublin? Just curious ;)

You are a child until you are 18 and 21 in the eyes of your parents usually, and the rather tough USA Alcohol licensing laws.

*dont hit me with a ban for saying this*

find the 26 year old and when he's on his own blindside him with a wheel brace but down badly injure him just take his runners, jacket, top, trousers and **** em in a bin. unless hes a knacker as they tend to have a whole clan on standby for a fight

*joke*joke*joke* violence is a last resort. just after calling the guards

**** one. I got mugged before. They got 20cent off me I think. It'd be cool if you could easily get contracted muscle for that kind of situation. Those huge Polish guys that come over, say to them you'll give them a few euro each if they kick the **** out of the filth with the rings, caps, white synthetic & cider.

when i was growing up in athy in the mid to late 80's the local bully would come up to me and say "i want 10 pence"
its all part of growing up isint it!?

on a side note the best way not to get mugged is to be ruthless.in a situation like that go for a punch to the throat or or good hard as possible kick to the testicles hiiii-yaaah. also never use a real weapon like a knife, baseball bat, hurley to defend yourself as you will definitely have to explain that to the guards.

and as for hired muscle just hang around the dole office im sure a few tough guys would be open to making a bit of money.

    *joke* no more bans please

#Smokey#, there is a Humour forum if you want to go and *joke*. Consider yourself warned, you will be banned next time.
OP, call the Gardai, stay clear of Supermacs or put up with it.
