Hi Guys, I'm just wondering whether it's possible to get an air conditioning unit installed in a card that currently does not have it fitted ? Specifically, I'm looking at a 1997 BMW 320i.

It is, but it's pretty expensive. Do you already own the car, or are you just looking at it?

I'd imagine it'll cost you around €2,500, and aftermarket a/c will add little or nothing to the value of the car. Is it a particularly good one, or could you just replace it with another that does have a/c?

It's in pristine condition and wouldn't sell it just to get one that has air co. I intend hanging on to it for a number of years yet. I was just looking in to it as a possibility. €2.5k is a bit pricey all right.

If you do want to enquire further, I'd recommend a guy called John Kenealy who specializes in car a/c. You could give him a call, I'm sure he could give you much better advice than I could. I don't have his number, but he's in the book.

    It not feasible economically.

You'd be better off selling your own and sourcing another similar car with a/c, perhaps even importing one from the UK (where specs. tend to be higher).

I'd agree with Henry Ford III.

But if you still want to go ahead you could try ICE in Ranelagh.

The winter is coming so you've a good while to think about it...............
