Re your notice about the choir performance. I live in laois and was wondering if you knew of any choir or music societies in the area. I am 16 and am not free during the week but any information would be appreciated because i would love to spend more time singing!!

    Byatch,

Choir singing can be great fun and there should be loads in your area.
check out http://www.cnc.ie this is the website of the national association of choirs.
There is a subsection there with a list of choirs in your area and basic contact details. Also, details about the Irish Youth Choir which is the youth version of the philharmonic - this might be exactly right for you considering your lack of availability during the week.

send an email to choral ireland looking for choirs in your area
      choralireland@yahoogroups.com
There is also a choir database on their website, but you need to be a member of the group to view:
      http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/choralireland/

There are regional arts co-ordinators who are involved in promoting music - your school should have details.

Talk to your local church musicians as they are often in choirs and involved in music in the area. Do they have a youth choir, gospel choir or folk group?

Anyway, keep singing and let me know how it goes - J:)
