Two photos my dad took at the start of the summer on his trip to Canada.

He dosn't take photos as much as he used to, but I gave him a loan of (Read "He thieved") my 300D for it.

Waterplane somewhere in the Rockies.

Out in the plains.

Excellent pictures, I love the first one. Lots of atmosphere. Selective colour is great on it too, I thought it was a bit washed out it was that subtle. Lovely sharp pictures too

First one doesn't do anything for me but the second is fabulous. For an instant I thought it was a movie...the dust and truck seeming to hover in the distance. Very cool.

The second one is a fantastic piece of photography,very atmospheric and moody.

I'd go with the second lad too, very.....well American (and yes I know it's Canada) if you know what I mean. The Dodge/Burn action around the tail of the plane is a little too distracting for me in the first.

Ah c'mon show some love for the airplanes! I like both shots, but not too fond of the "halo" around the tailplane in the first tho. I like the sense of vastness in both shots, the dust trail in No.2 works really well with the bend in the road to give a sense of how there is so much more off to the right out of sight.

Who performed the shoppage?

You didn't lick it off the stones Faj. The second one does it for me. Makes me think of Woody Gutrie. The cat one on flickr is deadly.

Yep - it is the 2nd one for me too. The dust drifting off to the left of the truck is super.

Speaking of photoshoppage, what was done to the second one? Just to test my own eye I would guess the following (aside from the obvious):

The sky had the hell burned out of it.

The road was dodged a bit.

The dust closest to the truck got dodged a good bit.

Close at all?
