Will they work for receiving the trials here? I'm not pushed about buying an STB if I could use a dongle on the various PCs/laptops I use. Also are cheapish ones on eBay worth buying? I did check the FAQ and couldn't find an answer.

They will work, but you will need a better antenna than whats supplied in moderate-weak reception. They appear not to be as robust as a STB in that regard. If the ones that have bought them reply here, you might get the a picture as to their usefulness.
