MSN Keeps kicking me off

    Hi Folks,
I'm running OS X with MSN for Mac. For some reason after a while of inactivity, I keep getting signed out.
Now, I have the same setup in work, and everything works fine - I can stay logged in all day, so I'm beginning to think that it has something to do with my wireless router (hence my not posting this in the Mac forum).
I have no port forwarding set up or anything else like that. It's a Belkin wireless router.
    OS X 10.4.7.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    S.

Sorry, I skimmed over the thread and saw OS X so moved it here. If you're certain it is a wireless problem (i.e. you've tried connectiing with out the router, etc) then report the thread and ask the mac mod to move it ti wireless.

    Sorry!

MSN always is logging out ever since I have upgraded it to Version 5.1.1, the highest Mac spec available of it. What version of it are you using?

Same here! I am wireless too. Never had a problem when I was on the cable.

Lads short term solution to the prob would be to use ebuddy

Or switch your client to something better -- I recommend Adium, but you can also try aMSN ;)

I use iChat (with "Chax" installed, a free enhancement/plugin/whatever-you-want-to-call-it for iChat) and Skype these days, though I never had a problem with MSN logging me out, I just didn't like it much.

Get your buddies to switch to Skype, it's probably the best IM client around these days, and all chats, file transfers and calls are encrypted, so nobody can "sniff" you.

I use it on wireless without any problems.. but I hate it so I gave up. Now I use proteus to connect to MSN and gtalk, and iChat for video, handiest apps ever.
