Just wondering what everyone's personal favourite is? Have only been to Navan, Leopardstown and the Curragh all of which I liked but for facilities I would say Leopardstown is the best of the three although I have heard the Curragh has been upgraded since I last visited in 2003 I thik it was. Haven't been racing in a while and fancy a good day out involving the horsies. Anyone any suggestions? Also, has anyone ever been to Laytown races, been planning to go for years and actually have the day off for it on Tuesday but as far as I can remember it's been rained off fairly often in the last few years.

Leopardstown is my local and favourite track. I must say though, that like most courses I have been to, the catering facilities are not up to much at all. This always dissappoints me. It costs nearly €20 in anywhere these days, so the least I expect is a proper cafe and shop.

Laytown? I think I had a picnic on the home straight one year. My nephews made a nice sand castle. Was a great day.

No competition here IMO - the Curragh by far

speaking of Laytown on Tuesday, theres a horse down to run in the 5:45 called Kleinova. Good Chance. Hope it passed its inspection and the races go ahead there

I agree about the admission...ridiculous prices. My FAV is prob the Curragh.

Speaking of admission prices I was there a few weeks back (Curragh) with the missus. It's €20 to get in as it's a group 1 day. I see a family ticket for €35 (up to 3 kids plus 2 programs). Yer one wasn't gonna sell me one cos there was just the 2 of us (i.e. no kids). It's a saving of €11 when u consider the programs. Eventually i got one out of her. I'd imagine there's legal implications to refusing a couple (or 2 lads or 2 girls) a family ticket?? After all what constitutes a "family"?

Was looking at admission to Longchamp on Arc day - €8 entry!! Free shuttle buses to the track too.

anyway, that's all i've to say!!!

I like Leopardstown for the good quality jumps meetings. However the 2.50 price tag on a bottle of water sours the experience somewhat.

How much will the tickets be for Leopardstown this weekend?

€16 for the grandstand, and €28 for the reserved enclosure.

Its about half price if you are a state-sponsered layabout like me (student), or a pensioner.
