Low Centre of Gravity

Every once in a while i hear the term low centre of gravity mentioned in the golf swing.i have not quite been able to put my finger on what exactly is been spoken about
i am assuming that it is very closely related to your stance/balance from within your posture and that if you do not see the golf ball at impact that it is your c.o.g that is out of sync more so than assuming that your head has come up or whatever other excuse you can make to yourself
is it an imaginary line if you like, from the balls of your feet and up through the knee caps and the small of your back where all of your weight is centred.i
have not seen any reference to this anywhere yet it does get mentioned every now and then
i suppose i am really wondering if this is the missing link to my swing !!

Hmmmm... it could be, but I would see it as referring to the power transmitted through the golf club. Most people use what it sometimes called 'high handled power' which basically means the power of the swing is up towards the top of the club. To hit a good shot the trick is to 'lever' the power down to the club head which is the bit that hits the ball.

That is why topclass golfers have that lazy swing and the ball shoots off the club...while hackers like moi swing like fair f**k and don't get half the distance.
In other words the power in levered lower down to get maximum effect....:p

From what I gather, its got to do with your balance and the way you transfer your weight during the swing i.e. When you follow through the ball and release the club and end in the finished stance, do you feel yourself wanting to topple because of imbalance?

Maybe this can be of use:
