I've been going through a few sites that you can get a new number and using their software can then receive free incoming calls from landlines. No subscription needed. Although these sites are located in Britian and US. Would be a 'free' alternative to blueface, etc. when used in line with free outgoing calls.

Is this not possible to do in Ireland?

At the moment I use http://www.internetcalls.com/en/index.html for outgoing calls and find it very good, you are limited to 300 mins a week.

Another iteration of the ubiquitous vopistunt.com, voipbuster.com, voipcheap.com, etc. They're all services of "Betamax GmbH & Co KG, Im Mediapark 8, 50670 Köln".
