    HI all,

Im thinking of buying a Lithium 3v battery charger on e bay for my canon eos, are the rechargeable lithium CR123A any use or am I better of stickin to the normal non-rechargeable batteries. Im tired of shelling out for batteries.

    Cheers.:)

Buy the charger, Ive got a D30 and have been using the battrey non stop for the last two years. You will make back the cost of it in no time.

(The D30 is a digital camera which will be much heavier on battery use so some sort of rechargeable would be essential but I suspect the OP isn't using a digital.)

With a film SLR, it really depends how much you use the camera. If you use it a lot and frequently, rechargeable might be worth it, but if the camera's not under regular heavy use, you'll find that a rechargeable battery might need to be recharged before use even if you put it away fully charged.

I've been using the same battery in my SLR for the last year (~30 rolls and counting, but the battery meter's just moved from 2/3 to 1/3 full). I'd say go with the lithiums - they're not expensive and they should last you long enough that you'll be more worried about the cost of film/ processing/ printing than the cost of power. You can always go rechargeable if the first batch runs out in no time.

Edit: just re-read the 'tired of shelling out' bit. Advice: Buy your batteries and film in bulk from the internet (7dayshop.com/eBay, etc.) Carry a spare battery in your camera bag if you think you'll need it because local camera shops charge heavily for them.

    Thanks for the replys.

Just picked up 10 non rechargeable batteries on e bay for 99p!!! (+ P+P)
    Happy days.
Think I will stay away from the rechargeables for awhile.

    Thanks again.
