    There are 3 of us left in 20 euro freezeout.

    Stacks
    Hero(21,200)
    Villian(12,100)

    Blinds are 1500-3000 so firmly in crapshoot territory.
    I am on sb while villian is on button. Despite short stacks, villian has not been pushing that much but has gone all-in once in last 3 hands hands so maybe getting used to it.
    I look down at A3o, normally I throw it away instantly but villian has 4bb so I think he has a very wide range, if I lose I am down to 9,100 (assuming bb doesn't play) if I win 33,300 and think I am in good position to win it.
    So what is your move?

    Hey Rob this is Carl, how did you finish?? I defo thought u were the better player out of the three and u were doing well until this hand. At first i thought that this was an auto-call since he only has 4bbs and his range as you said is very wide but i just ran it through poker stove and this is what i got:

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 57.7977 % 51.37% 06.43% { 22+, A2s+, K8s+, QTs+, JTs, A2o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo }

    Hand 2: 42.2023 % 35.77% 06.43% { Ac3d }

    So your 42% agains his range and its around 10,500 into a 16,500 pot for you to call so your getting roughly 1.6/1 or a little better than 3/2 so the call is just about right but its far more marginal then i first thought. I think i got his pushing range about right here but let me know what you think.

    If you are first to act, and no action has taken place so far - then I like a shove.

    FB, villain has pushed from the button.

    If I think villlain is so tight (which seems to be your impression) that he only pushes with an ace or a pair, then I fold.

    But against most of the players that I play against (i.e. regulars on here), then I'd probably call. But in your particular case it looks like a fold.

    Edit: Good to meet you at Citywest, cooker3. You deal goot.

    i never like to call a shove with A3 or similar as u are never too far ahead, and often miles behind.
    deffo open push with it, but i just hate calling with it, although u are often slightly ahead here.
    despite the blinds, i dont think i call this one.

    I was the lad with the massive chip lead when the tourney went 3-way.I ended up winning it,300 yoyos...not bad at all.

    Im assuming you are the fella who was wearing the cap?

    From what I rember this lad was going all in every second hand!He was pissing me off because we never got to see flops and he was turning it into a crapshoot.Lucky for me I had enough chips to wait for a decent hand but I think you were forced into calling him a couple of times because the blinds wre eating away at your stack.Eventually he jammed a 6 or somethin on the river to knock you out.

    I cant rember if you called this hand with ur A 3 but Id deffo wud have called considering he cud be playing literally any 2 cards

    He kept going all in heads up also.Patience was the key..

    I would fold this hand. I would just like to know what hand you were putting him on. The only hands you were ahead off is 22 or A2 or maybe any high king.

    A3o is not ahead of 22. You will most likely split a pot against A2 A4 or A5,

    This is not a good spot to call though as you're equity is only good against x3. I know it's tempting to call but you really should wait for a better opportunity

    He has 4 bbs. This is a call with almost any 2.

    Lol, actually I was the lad who was going in all-in every second hand, I think your under estimating how many times I went all-in :)
    On a point and I think I said this to you at the time, I was not the one turning it into the crapshoot, the format did that for me, when there is 14bb in total on the table and 3 players left then well you don't have much room to play and as you noticed I refused to get blinded away!

    Anyway result was I called and he had 55, his hand held up and I was very crippled, whats interesting was I pushed next 4 hands I recall and not called once. I ended up knocking villian out when my A6 hit lucky card against AK and DJDC took me out with top pair when I had up and down straight draw but didn't hit.

    In thinking about it and without trying to be result orientated I think I should have layed it down and above point about how I built my stack again is big reason why, if I could do so much damage with 9000 chips at 1500-3000 blinds then imagine the damage I could have done with stack of 20,000 chips, I really felt they were being too tight considering the blinds.

    Lenny, nice meeting you at CityWest too, played well when I was dealing and congrats on making it so deep!
