Surprised I haven't seen a post about this lately.

I liked it when i first started drinking it but now that you seem to be able to buy it everywhere its losing its appeal.

What do you think of it?

I like it, but it can be vicious if you overdo it. It's really drank as a digestif (after-dinner drink) in Germany where it goes down a bomb.

Now that its mainstream, its not good enough for you?
I doubt the taste has changed since it became mainstream...

That stuff actually exists???? I thought I was just always dreaming it up as part of a drunken haze. Horrible crap, like drinking pancake syrup.

    Nay!

Try one after a meal, when you're nice and full, then you'll see what it's really meant for.

In night clubs with my mates we used to get those Jagerbombs before we hit the dancefloor (more like you had to hit the dancefloor or you'd hit something). I got a great buzz of them. But the last few I had weren't great so I stopped. Seems to be all baby guinness or tequila shots now.

If I have to many jagerbombs ill be awake all night. Thats what they remind me of just lying in my bed at like 7 in the morn still wide awake! Good buzz though.

Danziger Goldwasser is nicer, and much much harder to source in Ireland.

Been my drink of choice for years. Jager and a dash of lime is the way of the future. This Jager/Red Bull fad doesn't impress me :)

And where might one get this in dublin?

A nice cocktail using Danziger Goldwasser is one we used to make in Germany.

You need a large glass such as a highball glass, we used to use large stemmed glasses, add to it, two tablespoons of cocktail fruits and a tablespoon of the syrup, then a shot of goldwasser, a shot of vodka and fill it up with sparking wine.
The end result was called an "Eisberg" or in English an iceberg.

Sounds lethal! My only experience of drinking the stuff was neat. Drank most of a bottle with my brother's wife. Told her exactly what I thought of her.:o

Luckily she's now his ex-wife because he came to the same conclusion. The hangover was definitely the worst I've ever had.

MiWadi is what I use at home, ratio of 3:2 lime to Jager should do the trick, with ice.

jager is evil. we ran out of shot glasses one night and i had to resort to the dog's tennis ball. my wife took pics because she didn't think i would believe her the next day...

No the bottle definitely looked liked Jagermeister but the shots were poured into test-tubes (which had the orange Jagermeister logo on them). However that said, I was pretty wasted at the time so might be completely wrong.

Its not bad like a cough syrup that was once on the market which is a strange analogy.

I think I remember seeing them, it was a promo when the stuff came out here first. They didn't want to promote it as the after dinner drink that it actually is so they "binged" it up a bit.
The raver scene in Germany used be into it quite a bit cos of the herby similarity to Vicks and the like.

Its a lovely drink if its ice cold. It goes down so much easier and is actually quite nice tasting with a similarly chilled mixer. They always serve it at room temperature in Ireland and its manky. Berlins the place to get it at €1 a shot :D
After returning here and trying it though it doesn't have the same appeal. Back to old Southern Comfort and Red Lemonade.
