Is it just me or is Neteller harder to get into than boarding a trans-atlantic flight ??? After sending them every piece of paper I've wrote on since I was born they let me on board but taking off, well thats another story . . .
I was told by the kind folks at Neteller that I could set up my bank details through my online bank account (BOI365) I tried doing this and was then told I'd have to go to my local Bank Of Ireland branch to setup Neteller as a payee on my account. When I went into my local branch I was told this was not possible because Neteller were not based in Ireland . AAAAAHHHHH!!!
Someone tell me this isn't happening and advise me !!!

you can't transfer online from here, it has to via a bank wire I believe in branch.

I always love adding that I was asked for no documentation whatsoever from them and got my bank account linked up no problem.

Why would you rub it in like that ???
Seriously it took me like half an hour to scan all the stuff they wanted. I'm no threat to society !!! I'm a country boy who works for a bookmakers and who occasionally enjoys par-taking in online poker and gambling !!! (Ya see the way I drew a line between poker and GAMBLING people !!!) How much of a security threat can I be !!! I've always paid back my loans !!!

You probably tried to bring water or some such threatening substance onboard an aircraft. A henious crime, worthy of the punishment of over-documentation.

What % do neteller take from your bankwire withdrawl?.
Is there rates of % they take?, like if you want to withdraw $50 its 'x' % and if its a $300 withdrawl its 'y'%?.

Im having trouble linking my bank acc too.

There's been a few reports of Neteller being hacked over on 2+2. I think it's more that people didn't have decent internet security or passwords or whatever more than Neteller being at fault.

I'd prefer somewhere like Neteller to have pretty good security given the amount of money that poker players move around. If you play a wide range of poker sites Neteller is an absolute godsend. Once you get your bankaccount linked up cashing out profit is really easy.

I could be wrong but I think they charge $1 fee and then 1.9% of the total amount. So if you cash out $1000 they take $19.

So my findings so far is that I have to go and wire money from my bank account to neteller in my branch whenever I want to deposit but when I withdraw online from eg Pokerstars it will go back to my neteller account or straight to my bank account ???

when you withdraw online it goes straight to Neteller, and there is no charge for this service I believe. It is when you want to transfer from Neteller to your linked bank account that the charges incur. You can do this online, and should take 3-5 business days.

You can lodge to Neteller with a credit card. As Laf said, the higher security levels are worth the extra aggravation.....eventually.

They bugger you royally with credit card deposits though, something like 2.5% iirc.

they don't charge 1.9%. well, not for me anyway. just the flat $1 fee whether you wire $10 or $1 miliiion dollars. neteller is the schizzle.

1.9% is the currency conversion charge. If your not getting charged this, it probably means your account is in euro. However if you are transfering or withdrawing money to a poker account in dollars, you will get charged 1.9% on each transaction.

So is it just a matter of changing your currency from $ to € to avoid the 1.9%?.

Is there any disadvantages of transferring currency in € then?

If your poker accounts are in euro, then your should definetly have your neteller account in euro. however, if you are like most people on boards and have several dollar accounts on poker sites , you should have your neteller account in dollars. The reason for this is that all transactions between neteller and poker sites will be free and you will only get charged the 1.9% once, when you cash out.

Personally I think if your using neteller, it is best to keep all your accounts in the same currency. I have all my accounts in dollars. This is because the major sites only offered dollar accounts. (this may have changed as it been a while since i opened my accounts)

I gave up on withdrawing with Neteller. I'm going back to the Neteller->VC->My Bank Account routine because I have had my bank account setup with VC for a long time. Probably easier to get your bank account setup there if you fancy trying that.

It depends if most of your transactions are PokersiteXYZ -> Neteller or Neteller -> euro bank account.
If you have a euro Neteller account and are moving money aound Stars/Party/FTP (all in dollars) on a regular basis then you'll get hit with a currency conversion charge each time, I think. I could be wrong.

Trying to so the same myself from AIB online. Neteller have an account in Barclays Bank Ireland Plc, 47-48 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2. I had to email them for the NSC. It is 99-02-12. They give you their account number when you set up the deposit on the neteller webpage.
Transferred money there yesterday using my neteller account number as the detail they see. My fingers are crossed that it will appear in my neteller account in the few days.
