Out of interest, how young or old were you when you had your first child? It would be interesting to see the age profile of the boardsies as regards their progeny.

i dont have any kids... not for a good few years yet lol but my mam had her first(me) at 23, second 25, 3rd 29, and fourth she was 33

oh and my bf's mam was 19 when she had hers, all within 3 years they are now 18, 19 and 20!!

First at 24, dad was 2 weeks off 29, second I was 25, thrid at 31 and fourth at 32, and believe you me i found i had a lot more energy with the first 2 than i have with the two younger ones!!!! Maybe a bit more panicky on the first 2, but more energy to be that way inclined.

I was 17 when I had my daughter and 27 when I had my son. My Mam was 19 when she had me and I made her a Nanny/Grandmother when she was 37 :eek: Everyone thinks I'm my daugthers sister but she loves having a young Mammy and so do I. I'm finishing having children now though and very happy with my boy and girl.

Also I was in sixth year when I was pregnant on my daughter. She was a few weeks old when I did my Leaving Cert and I can remember it like it was only yesterday. Mixing studying and night feeds wasn't too hard!

I was 20 when I had my son , 4 weeks before my finals in college:eek:
Made it threw them tho!
Had my daughter 14 mths later:eek: at 21!!
All finished now, Mr Dreamer is 6 yrs older than me so I blame him for leading me astray!:)

The age ranges (female) here for a first child seem to be between 17 and 32 but the most common in their mid-twenties. What does this prove though?

Oh, my God, most of you are young parents! I had my first at 30, second at 32, and my third is due in 7 weeks time and I'll be 36!
Was 5 years married when we had first - no regrets about waiting though as we enjoyed 4 holidays per year plus unlimited nights out and meals out. You just get tired of that lifestyle though, and having kids gives you more structure in life and for the future.

I'm 24 and the boyfriend is 29, due our first in 3 weeks time. I wasn't happy at first because of my age (thought I was too young and selfish to have a baby)

Most people seem to be between 25 and 30. I dont think im going to be in this age range cause I'm 20 right now and first have to finish uni and travel a bit, find the right man, date him for a few years, marry him, spend a few years as a married couple then finally have a baby... thats gonna take a long time.
