    Hey all,

I put in a new server for a school and set up group policy, gave all the students their own usernames etc etc.

Autocad is on all the machines in the school. For some reason, when pc's joined the new domain autocad stopped working .It kept saying "Autocad was not installed properly, please reinstall immeaditely"

So....I log on as admin and reinstall, and it then works perfectly. BUT when I log on as a standard user and try to run autocad I get the "not installed properly" message again, then I get a terminate program box with "memory "address"" could not be written and then I get the windows error reporting.

I've set the permissions for the local C: drive so that Everyone has full control. I've set the autocad.exe file so that everyone has full control. Also, when I log on to the machine locally as the admin autocad will work, but when I log on locally as a standard user, it won't work!!

I spent the WHOLE Day yesterday trying to figure this one out but I can't think of anything else that could be wrong!!

The version of Autocad is Autocad 97 LT, but it seems to me like a permissions issue rather than an Autocad issue as it works fine when logged in as admin.

    Any ideas!?

Try logging in as a power user and see if it works???

Yep, it's a well known microsoft bug, errrr 'feature', that regular user accounts are too restricted .... even MS's own office suite, requires at least power user rights, before you can configure outlook properly or even accept the license agreement permanently.

On each machine, add the domain\domain users group to the power users and you should be grand
