    Hi folks,

The aul head is wrecked with this stupid pc acting up lately, so I have decided to format the fecker and reinstall XP.

Now, can some wise computery person advise me on the best and most thorough way of formating drive C:

I know you can do it with the windows disk but I heard it doesn't clean your pc properly.

    Thanks for your help.

The XP cd should work fine, you will just delete the active partition that the installation is on. If you get a message that you can't delete because the files are currently in use then you will have to use a boot disk to format. You can check here for more information on that, step-by-step.

Hmmm, can I create a boot disk on a cd? I don't have a floppy drive!
