As the window approaches close it seems to me more and more likely that malbranque will take up the lw position. What do people think of this. I must admit I am worried about it. Our whole problem is that we dont have natural width on the left. We've been playing more central players there like Davids and Tainio so what makes Jol think Malbranque, a right footed player, can do a better Job? Hes a decent player and a good addition to the squad but is he the answer to a gaping hole in the LW of a team pushing for a champions league spot? I think not.

He's no pacy LW, but he'll bring a little creativity to the side which isn't a bad thing. A point made elsewhere is that two flying wingers might leave us vulnerable defensively, which might mean one of Lennon plus an incoming LW would have to be benched for the tougher games.

I'd still rather an out and out LW though...
