I ordered SkyHD and was told I didn't need a phoneline. I insisted that a phoneline was needed before but she assured me that an extra fee could be paid to install without a phoneline. The installer has just left, with the SkyHD box. Complete muppet sales woman in Sky told me a pack of lies. You HAVE to have a phoneline for HD, but not for Sky+ or regular Sky. Had to take the day off work for this. To say I'm pissed off right now would be the understatement of the century!

keep ringing back until you get someone who will turn you on manually, spoke to a guy with same problem yesterday and he got sorted.

How would this work though if Sky are telling me it has to be connected for 12 months and the installers refuses to install without the phoneline connected?

Sorry just re read your post and realised it was not installed. Do you have basic sky or sky + at present?

In that case just buy the box and fit it yourself, I have a customer who did this and then got a manual switch on
