im in two minds whether to give Silks a try or just go to SE.

I beleive they had between 4-8. Dave Masters said 8 when I met him in the Fitz, but I heard afterwards that only 4 played. I don't think it makes a difference which is true as neither is a good number.

Scalps is definitely the best tourney on a Wednesday night. Tonnes of play and usually a good prizepool with around 40-50 runners, going up every week. Unfortunately I'm suffering from poekr burnout so am taking a night off, though cashing yesterday took away my ever increasing hatred of the word bubble, just barely!

If I get back to Dublin in time, I'm scalping the SE

Ah wah. It's your fault for not vetting your room sharer properly. It gave you an excuse that I see you have used already to excuse your crap day 2 play in Citywest.:p

Enjoyed this last night. Met Gholi and HalfBaked and we all made the final table. Ionapaul was there also and got knocked out close to FT. Only about 32 players, so 5 got paid. HalfBaked went out in 9th (?) to a very dubious call and I went in 7th. Gholi was still there when I left.

good night but some of the play was unreal. if i get time later I'll go through some of the calls and the 'reasons' behind them. If you could get cards in that game you'd clean up (suppose thats the same in any game !!)

my focking god ,who is allowing these people to play poker.
i started out on a table where the standard raise was 14xBB.
blinds at 25/50 and we get raises to 2K.
there is like maybe 150 in the pot and ppl these dude are betting 1.5K in to it.
i saw fock all hands so i couldnt do anything.
eventually i checked my BB with AT and the flop came A 4 8 .
i bet out 200 in to 400 pot and one of these dudes calls me.turn is another 8 and i check and he bets 3.5K .i said fock it and put all my chips in for another 700.he calls ans shows 22 !!!!
eventually this dude was knocked out and all his chips went to this Chinees dude.
he was mad as well but slighty more readable.
in the final table he knocked Halfbaked out when he called a massive reraise with QT off and hit a Q.
when we got down to 4 handed blinds are 1/2K and i have 20K left.
its folded to me on the button and i push .this fock is on the BB and has 32K.
he thinks about it for a while and then calls with 22.
no cards for me and im out.
    Arrrrrrrrr:mad:

its a great game if it wasn't for KK < AJ all in pre flop (33k pot) then i would have had chip lead on the FT.

That's another sickness that has crept in recently Gholi. 20xBB raise preflop and similar BS. Opening for 8-20xBB with blinds at 25/50. Such a fookin joke.

To be fair, it was one player who was really going crazy with these over-bets / raises. Despite his occasional monster stack (like early on last night) he is gone before the FT on every time I've seen him play.
I noticed that Myles 2 (there are two of them that are SE regulars!) who was sitting to your immediate left on table 3 Gholi (seat 2 I guess) was very animated and loud at one point - rounders123 and himself had a bit of verbals a week or so before, he loves a bit of a shout!
I misplayed KK with 12 to go and lost half my stack (it was just horrible play :( what I donkey I was). Had to push with A9o with 10 to go and ran into AKs.

not sure if we are talking about the same guy, he started on table 1 seat 7 i think. blinds 75/150 raise to 2k. it was very funny for a while then the 4/5th time it just got annoying.

I know one Myles who is a SE regular but he wasn’t there last night.
His attributes are : he is **** ,he think he can play and he is as predictable as anything and a big time calling station.
The dude to my right last night is also a regular but I donno his name. he is not as bad as the other Myles.
Ive never seen it that bad in SE. usually you may get one person who dosent know how to bet but last night we had three of them on the table that were really doing my head in .what’s worse is two of them made it to FT and one of them to the money.

There was indeed some crazy plays last night....even more so than usual in the SE!!

I was happy with how I had played up until the hand that knocked me out. One of the first hands at the final table and with them only paying 5 I felt a number of players were looking to survive into the money. With this in mind I reckon it's time to get busy.

Blinds are 500/1000 and I have 18K (villain in the hand has about 20K)

I'm in middle position and there are two limpers to my right. I look down and see 55 and decide to raise to 6K as I figure I can take it down pre flop. If anyone comes over the top, I think I can drop then hand and still have a decent enough stack compared to most at the table. Folded all around to the last of the limper who dwells for a while and calls. Having played with the villain before I believe that had he AK/AQ or similar he would have raised rather than limped in the first place, and if he's got any high pocket pair he's coming over the top.

Flop comes down Q-7-3 rainbow and he checks. With 15.5K in the pot and me with 12K I decide to push for the remainder of my stack as I feel there is a very small range he can call with here. Villain insta calls with Q-10off!! Not sure how he managed to call a 6x1 bb raise out of position with that hand, but what can you do.

I'm know I didn't play the hand as well as I could but I feel I got unlucky more than anything else (please feel free to slate me for my play here:o ).

That sounds very crapshooty if having 12 bbs is better than most at the table!! is it really that bad??

Maybe most is an exaggerating, but I don't think I would have been in any danger and there were about 3/4 short stacks.

Oh that guy:D i lol when i think back to that incident even though it was quite serious at the time.

He decided to look at his cards before going off in search of a chewing gum instructing the young female chinese dealer to wait for him when action comes around to him because he'd be back in a minute.

When he was still away and action did get to him the dealer looks unsure and i help her along by asking her to muck his hand and i help his cards on their way to the muck. He sees this and starts giving out to the dealer telling her "I told you to wait i was only goin to be a minute. I TOLD YOU TO WAIT".

I said fairly sternly "No i encouraged the dealer to have your hand mucked. If your not in your seat your hand is dead".

This sent him even madder and he says furiously "Well you should'nt have and I DONT LIKE BEING TOLD THE RULES EITHER. I know the rules, i know what the rule is"

I said "Well if you feel that strongly about it why dont you ask for a ruling from the TD?"

Steam was coming from his ears at this stage and i was thinking of setting it all off by saying "This is not a pub tournament you know!" but i probably want to come back to the place and he would have probably killed me so i decided to say no more!.

Thanks Eshan... I suppose your right though! It was his first tourney last night as he only plays cash games. He a lot more careful over on those tables.

Hi Ionapaul, that was my AKs you ran into, sorry about that.

I didn't realise so many of the boards guys were there last night as I don't really know many of the faces. Met Eshan and played at FT with him to my left for a while. That 22 call was incredible. FWIW that guy went out in third place in the end despite his early monster stack, he pushed with K10o and got action from JJ which spiked a J on the river to beat his pair of kings on the flop. He doubled me up just prior to that. I was happy to bide my time and pick my spots at the FT which got me to headsup and after about 10 hands we were even in chips so we did a split and played one hand for the loose change which I won. I was happy with the outcome as I was down to 15k at one point with blinds at 1500/3000. It was only my second time to play the SE and whilst I enjoyed the game I was very surprised by some of the play (poor) both early on and at the FT.

Nice to be able to put some faces to names.

I was at your table for a while Piper and at FT. I was the fellow eating all your gum :) You played a very solid game all night and glad to hear you took it down.

Two hands that spring to mind with me. I was on my rebuy so only 4000 left. I have 77 in mp and limp. flop 987. UTG bets 400. I know I am ahead but dont have the chips to get fancy so raise to 1500. He goes all in and I call immediately. He has A9, doesnt hit and tells me I got very lucky as he had "loads" of outs.

Couple of hands later I have AJc and raise to 1500, same lad reraises all in for 4000. I was never so sure in my life that I was ahead and called asap. He shows A9s. Flop 934c and I have the nut flush. He leaves telling me I got lucky on the flop because his 9 would have been good if they weren't all clubs. "Ya, very lucky" I said.
