Assuming direct labour build i.e. no homebond cover you are required by a lending institution to get your home signed off by an architect\technician\engineer ... with the relevant qualifications and PI insurance.

What exactly does the PI insurance cover your house for?

Can the cover provided by PI insurance vary from architect to architect?

The PI cover for an architect ensures that if you find yourself having to sue them that they have sufficient cover to pay any reasonable settlement.
