It's not really a Digital Photography book (though does cover a bit of digital, albeit a good bit out dated), but great all round:

Basic Photography - Michael Langford (7th edition)

Also Advanced Photography by same author meant to be good (next on my purchasing list!).

When asked I always recommend Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera

It's not specific to digital cameras but then controling exposure is something that's common to all cameras. It's a great book, and one I've been meaning to re-read again to brush up on the differences between story telling apertures and the don't care ones!

That one is always mentioned as being excellent. An ex-workmate read it one wekeend. I quizzed him after that and he understood the fundamentals.

John Hedgcoe's Manual Of Photography is great at composition.

I've been looking for a good Photoshop CS book and the Photoshop CS2 Bible appears to look good.
