    Hi Folks,

Am going to get in SKY+ and want to know if now is a good time - ie. is there any new additions/upgrades due on the standard issue equipment etc. At the moment the standard is an 80GB SKY+ Digibox AFAIK.

Also is their options on this - I know that in the UK theres a larger capacity model also.

Also whats the deal with SKY HD - seems to me that its going to be too expensive for too few channels for too long before it becomes worthwhile....Any thoughts ?

If I sign up before the end of Aug. I get SKY movies and Sports free for 6 months so may just go and sign up......

    Raiser

The Sky HD does everything SkY+ does. You could even get one and add a HDTV later. Even HD is a separate sub on SkyHD, so you can have a SkyHD box in theory with a Sky+ sub.

Sky+ is a hell of a lot cheaper to get with an initial subscription than get it later.
I think the current deal is free installation and a Sky+box for 69euro.
If you upgrade later then you are talking about an extra 90euro install and a 150euro box (the deal is better if you also take Multiroom).

As an existing customer I'm waiting till I have to fork out less than 200euro. I've been waiting a while ... :(

Could someone please clarify this question for me? (sorry for jumping in here but its on the same line).

I am an existing sky customer for over 15yrs. I have the basic digibox. If i get a sky HD box and pick multiroom does that mean i still have to pay another €15 per month for HD on top of the €15 per month for multi room too?

If that is the case they can stick it where the sun don't shine.

Yup, that is the case. €15 per month for HD, and another €15 for each Multiroom point.

Or not pay the HD charge for now and use it as a nice Sky+ box.
