Saving some time on a Mac Pro order

I'm looking at getting a Mac Pro. I'll need wireless as the BB is downstairs and the place isnt wired. If I order the Mac Pro with built in Airport Extreme, it adds weeks to the order time. However, there is a 24hr turnaround if you buy the Mac Pro, and the Airport card separately.
Is this a viable option (i.e. self-install of the Airport card) - I presume it just goes in a PCI slot or something like that??

Anyone have any experience of this??
    Thanks in advance

It appears that the Airport and bluetooth are a factory install. They're a little hard to get to by some accounts. I think! the risers on the board are the same as the Mac Mini (but double check first).
Here's an image of an installed bluetooth module and the WiFi riser above and to the right a bit...

This means kits are available from 3rd parties.
Getting them installed in by Apple is probably the best step.

An airport card is for the older ppc based systems airport extreme is where your at and they are built-in on the macbookpro so not 100% sure what your problem is here sounds like you could be trying to order with nick is it?

Doesnt look too much like rocket science. Ah hell, I'm going to just get it separately and self-install - all the drivers are inherent in the OS.

Buying the Mac Pro, not the MacBook Pro. I've got a powerbook but have seriously outgrown its power (not the best for handling multiple 100MB+ tiff files). I'll still have the portable for onsite work, but the real power back at base to do things properly (and quickly).

And yes... I'm willing to put up with Rosetta until Photoshop is upgraded. I'll save a heap of time with Aperture though...
