Replacement Sky Remote Control

Pretty much as the title suggests

The standard "big blue" sky remote control no longer works. The keys keep sticking -like they're not responding. I've changed the batteries but the problem is still there.
I received the box and remote back in December.

Does anyone know if Sky will issue me with a new one or will I have to buy one myself? All feedback appreciated

You will need to get a replacement yourself. You could try anti-static cleaner (certain types of glasses cleaner do the job)

satellite.ie have them at the best price I've seen locally. Also available in Argos and Currys.

Thats a bit crap considering that the remote is only 8 months old. Do Sky offer any sort of warranty on the remote? 3/6 months etc?

If sky fitted it then it should be covered for 12 months. The ones I sell are warrantied by the wholesaler for 12 months so should be the same for sky although getting them to actually replace it is another story.

hhmmm. i got a loan of a neighbours remote and tried it with my digibox.
Oddly, the exact same buttons dont function - the volume, mute and some of the other buttons on the left hand side. anyone any more suggestions as it may not be the remote now

Have you tried reprogramming the remote with the code to operate the TV controls?

Make sure there is nothing on your digi box as it can affect it.

Philips is the default, so leaving batteries out for 20 minutes might work. Of course not all philips are the same.

Depends on the revision, watty. Most of the blue Sky remotes were Sony by default.
