help please,cant watch video on pc

I took some bad advice and downloaded a bunch of stuff so I could watch movies for free and now I cant watch ANYTHING on real player or media player. Something about codex pops up. I dont know anything about computers. Can some one help? Thanks in advance.

i assume these are uncopyrighted movies. discussion of any kind of illegal downloading is a big no-no on these boards

they're the real player alternative and the quicktime alternative. they hook into the player i originally linked you to so all your videos will work through the one player now

if that player doesn't work for some reason, try this:
http://mirrors.optralan.com/videolan/vlc/0.8.5/win32/vlc-0.8.5-win32.exe

it'll play just about anything

Media Player Classic should do the trick, with the downloads Commander Vimes posted. Try VLC media player if that doesn't work.
