Flying from Dublin to Heathrow on Sunday.

Will have a rucksack and laptop bag only, so no need to check them in.

Is 80 minutes enough time to check in and get through security?

That's plenty of time on the outbound journey...but give yourself at least 3 hours on the way back! Just back from a weekend over there and the security checks are way OTT. I got there 2 1/2 hours before my flight, albeit from Manchester, and barely made it to the gate on time
I assume it's a similar situation, if not worse, from Heathrow

Thanks for that. I am returning from Gatwick on Monday at 5.30pm, so it probably will be a similar vision of hell there.

I realise I will have to check in the rucksack and hope the queues and checks arent too bad.
