    Hi,

I am looking to get an exernal hard drive to back up information from my office computers. I want something cheap and cheerful.

This would seem to be perfect. The idea is that i can back up any information fromthe computer onto it and then take it home for safe keeping. Will this suffice?

    Thanks! Not very computer friendly!

That'll be fine, I have one of these (250gb model) and they work great.

Another vote for the MyBook 250GB. Great little drive, and not so much as a peep out of it.

I was asked by a recovery data premises in Dublin Phibs....what did ur computer say on screen, when u lost all info?
My reply was" I'm goin to ruin ur life for the next 2weeks..." An absolute catasrophe especially when u know nothing about computers.
Can I advise u only of this I was quoted obscene figures for recovery of all data that was in cyberspace, they bombarded me with technology...downloads......cleanrooms...etc. The quote was a staggering minimum of 3000euros, and even then maybe nothing????
I decided to use alternative and call a number of some guy, for 635 inc. vat all data recovered plus new external harddrive. Dont ask me the make or what the capacity etc... i just know all data stored twice!! and saved a fortune. Go out and get one now .....it could happen to u!!! As is obvious I know nothing about computers.

If possible look into doing a regular scheduled backup. Possibly automated.
