Recommend me a storage device ?

Howdy all,
What I am looking for is something along the lines of this. At home I currently have a 300gb,300gb,250gb,120gb,80gb Ata and a 300 Sata drive at home. I have been trying to back these all up over the weekend and it's just painful. Having to shutdown every time I want to change over harddrives. Does anybody know of a device like this, but one that you can buy alone without the HD's ?

(budget fairly low ~€100/150)

for your price range nothing new will be available to you. Have a look on fleabay. You might get lucky there.

As the netgear nas is about 250euros, with no hdds. its just the case.

The buffolo is a hell of a lot more expensive. Looks like all you can do is power off to change hdds

The netgear is only about €120. I'd probably be willing to spend a bit more 3/400 for something like the buffalo. I'm just wondering if they actually sell them without the hd's as I'm sure that would be more within my price range. If you know of something like that around this €3/400 price range let me know

Great thanks for the Swamp. I somehow couldn't find that on komplett.
I will probably end up getting two of these, I'm a little put off by some reviews on amazon so far but I'm sure it should be fine.

i wouldnt reccomend that netgear nas box, i bought one here a few weeks ago, and couldnt get my drives to work with it. i could only ever get a 30gig partition on it, and even with that it was as slow as hell!!!

i got a linksys network storage link for usb external hdds. and just bought a couple of evternal housing off ebay....i am in hte same situation as yourself at the min.....loads of drives, but nowhere to put em!!

I wonder would an old PC like a PIII with a bunch of drives in it, networked not be easier. Anyway I was looking myself and finding it hard to get what I want too.

This looks pretty good. It's $200 and takes 4sata drives. The only annoying thing about that is I have 5 ata drives but this would probably be the cheapest option

I was looking around yesterday and thinking of making a SAN out of my old computer but still tweaking around the net for info on that. I saw freenas that might be good.
