I'd normally say the €100 DC in the Jackpot tonight Aidan but because of the sat in the SE tonight that will probably effect numbers in the Jackpot more so then the €50 DC in the Fitz so I'd go for the Fitz €50 DC if I were you tonight.

Tomorrow night would have to be "the best tournie of the week" the €40 buyin +€5 reg game with one rebuy in the SE with a €10 scalp which is especially good value this week as I won't be in attendance :(

GL tonight wherever you end up.

The jackpot is the way to go for a great structure etc.

30 min blinds 4k+4k double chance, 100e entry.

forgot one question what time does it start....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

It starts at eight but normally they accept people up until about nine, well they did last time I played it.

I think I will stick to the fitz tonight though, anyone else planning on playing this'?

just had a lok at the fitz website there is a 50e sc on there is it any good, will there be many runners, compaired to the jackpot..

don't play the fitz. Structure is terrible compared to the jackpot. And you get a smaller starting stack. Its only 50 more for 30 min blinds and an 8k stack.

Ive never played the fitz tonight but the jackpot usually gets about 50 odd runners

played the jackpot 100 dc last night .. this is a great tourney..

Ill have to do my best to play in it again..

Got caught on a re-steal with kq in the SB (19 left 400/800), when i tought the buttons range (he was a decent player and it was folded around to him) was big, anyway he almost folded aj.. 2 jacks and im gone..

Really enjoyed it tough, ill be back definatly

PS some guy called eamon (flop and river master) hit some load of hands with 67 89 78 all the time i was at his table, seems to be known for it too.. i should have been gone real early with aces when he hit 2 pair on flop and went all in , i called and sucked out...

Were any boards players at my table...

    Which table?

    A few boardsters there....

pppspecial, ionapaul and me made the FT. I split it 3 ways with Harold and an unknown.

Nice result Dave! This is a great tourney alright - reminds me a bit of the old days - a lot of quality players. Never got going at all and was destroyed when I called pppspecials bluff when he had 10-7 and I had AQ before the flop!
Will definitely be back for it next week.

Well done Dave! Great tourney, best 'deep stacked' tournament in town for the buy-in, I'll be back. Lots of work just to double my money!

Made a fair few mistakes early on and a few later, but as I was telling you one of the reasons I played was that I knew the standard would be very high and I need to play against better players rather than the usual tournaments in the SE against less experienced players.

Just couldn't lay down that QQ to Harold's UTG raise in the end, obviously he had something big but I was shortstacked and had to call, hoped against hope that he might have AKs or JJ, not KK.

i was the dumbass who made 3 string bets "tiredness" oops, altough the first one i actually announces raise the put in my call first with the raise after, i tought this was ok, but others may not have heard me say raise.. Being hoarse after then all ireland win and all........

    good tournament nice starting stack

What was the payout for the top three in jackpot last night?

I played this as well, made one or two poor plays before the break but was hanging on with around 7k, I knocked out Cardshark not too long after the break when I raised and he instantly went all in (thinking I was at it obviously) I called showing qq to his two undercard. After that I was motoring along until the following hand happened.

3 limpers and sb raises to 900 (clinds 150/300) I call with kj suited, three limpers fold.
The raiser was fairly quiet up to now, she didn't seem to be playing many hands and was pretty passive after her continuation bets post flop.

Flop came down kqx two hearts. She bet out 1200, At this point im thinking AK is possible but cant see her raising with kq oop, I reraise to 2400, she flat calls, at this stage im definately thinking AK.
Turn comes a j of hearts giving me two pair with a flush draw on the board.
She thinks for a bit before moving all in for about 4.5k more and having me covered by about 500. I call, she asks do i have the flush. I say two pair,
she turns over A10 for the straight and I'm absolutely gutted to be leaving.

Great game though, it was looking a bit iffy when there were only 13 players registered at ten past eight though lol

What do you mean Paul I try to give you "lessons" in the SE on a regular basis!! lol :D

I'm glad to see you made it down for this game at last it's an absolute cracker and while the standard is generally a bit better there is still plenty of terrible play and in a lot of ways its an easier game to play as its got a lot of the regular faces and you know what to do against them in most spots. Plus those guys and gals just have a bit more of a relaxed poker decency about them so even if they take a beat they generally take it very well with a laugh and a smile. I hope to get back to playing this game in a fortnights time.

I'm taking a little break from my studies tonight and may make it down for some SE action.

P.S. Delighted to hear Dave got a slice of this. You are playing some very good stuff at the minute BigD I remember being unhappy having you at my table in the Fitz scalps a few weeks back as you were picking off a lot of moves from people.

I'll see you in the SE alright, should be fun. Studying, much like working, is for chumps!
