Irish Poker Cup chip dumping

Its Day 2 in the Irish Poker Cup at CityWest. I'm a bit tired. I have 25,800.

Only four hours sleep after the 5 a.m. finish the previous night. When I got home some b******* had removed the footpath outside my house, and replaced it with a swimming pool. And they had turned off the water supply.

I have all of my starting stack +/- 1k. I find AKo and raise to 3k. Sligo John to my left makes it 6k, bets the flop of QJ9, bets the turn (a brick), and the river Q. I call, and call, and call, and call, and have 15k in the middle and no hand. He turns over KK.

About the only thing I did right on day 2 was find my seat. My avatar should be a creature ..... 1/3 donkey, 1/3 muppet, 1/3 fish. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Did I do anything wrong?

I think I can beat that.

Worst play of my life. I'd been card dead for a long time and hadn't got above 12k the whole tournament. Just a combination of bad cards tight table and good cards not hitting. Finally got moved to lunatic table where this happened:

Raised once with AJ in late position and everyone folded. Sat for an hour and never played a hand. Cards were that dead. In the cut off get Q 10 diamonds. i had seen KQ about a half hour before but folded it on the button to a large raise that would have seen me commited to an all in move post flop regardless. So I tried to be clever with this Q10 and steal the blinds. [330 / 600] I minimum raised. Figuring it might look a stronger than it actually was. BB then raised to 3800. He was similar in stack size to myself. Infact he had 1100 less. First mistake I called. A reraise at least would have made some sense if I was representing a big pocket pair. A call however is so weak. But for some reason I was under the impression that my opponent from Leitrim was on a small pair. the flop came KQ2 clubs. Without a moments hesitation Leitrim pushed his chips in. An extra 5800 I think it was. I had 6900left. If I was right and he was on a small pair my Queen could be good. I didn't like the club flop but figured if he had flushed he would not push all in like that. It looked like a weak move. Then again he could just be afraid of the flush. I decided to go with it and hope for the best. He had KQ. And I looked like the biggest donk. It was then that I pushed with 74os and doubled to 2k I then sucked out with K8 against AK and got back 9.5k. just shy of my original stack before my daft move. I ended the night on the BB with 6.7k ready for the next day. The interesting thing being that I never missed a hand and never saw anything that I could have pushed with in a better spot. Had I folded my Q 10 after the reraise... I would actually have finished with less chips than I did or possibly have gone out all together. Funny old game. Surprisingly the next day - favourite to be busted first from our table with Rory liffey on my SB. I actually saw Leitrim double up again with pocket sevens only for his next hand QQ to be thwarted by KK both all in preflop as I recall. He pushed his remaining 1k and lost. I found A6 two hands before my next blind. It was raised in front of me to 4800 I had 4900 I had to push and hope... But hope was lost when my neighbour pushed all in with AK forcing the original raiser to fold his pocket pair.... Sixes.

I went home in 136th place.

at 150/300 I raise to 800 in ep with AcKs. I have 8k and I've been playing so tight I squeak and some players are laughing as they muck their hands to get out of my way. BB calls.

Flop come 973 two spades, I bet 2000, BB who is steaming from being bet off a hand just before, calls. Another spade falls, he checks and I toss in my remaining 5,200. He has the nuts (A4s). I feel like a nut.

I remember that hand Sean, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what you had, I defo didn't have you on AK. It was a pity because you played really well the first day, but it's impossible to play properly with no sleep etc.

being a victim of no sleep my self and having played so well on the first day i made some moves on the second day and got my stack back to 70K.then i lost half of it when i got it all in pre flop with KK against Joe who called me with AQ sooted and i lost.
after that the last hand before the break this dude raise it up from EP and its folded around to me on the BB.i look down and see Q6o and think about it for 5 min then say all in .he inst calls with AJs and i lose and now only have 5K .i eventually lost the 5K as well.

I like it... the poker confesional. Should be a new sticky. Not for bad beats but for bad plays. Forgive me father for I have sinned. It has been three weeks since I last pushed all in from UTG with pocket twos. I sometimes lie and say it was pocket jacks that I folded to a reraise. I swear and I cheat. I sometimes miss the 10k on a Sunday and cheek my fellow boardsies.

For my penance I must read the bad beat sticky three times. Say four Hectorjellys and one Our DeVore
